Rail networks

Optical fibre is essential to rail networks. This technology is widely deployed on railway infrastructures to improve safety, communication, and network surveillance.

These critical infrastructures are used for a wide range of applications, including user information, network surveillance, and rail signalling. Particular attention is paid to strategic equipment.

The Telenco group is integrating unique expertise through its Rainford Solutions subsidiary, which manufactures railway cabinets that meet the most demanding requirements in terms of resistance and safety. This offering reinforces a complete range of optical connectivity, patch panels, patch cords and optical modules for simplified and optimised equipment management.

The tunnel coverage solution uses a 'Neutral host' distributed antenna system (DAS) to enhance the end-user experience. This is the most effective method for implementing coverage in tunnels for several mobile network operators in a neutral manner. "The solution is intelligently designed to accommodate all mobile network operators within a single shared infrastructure. In addition, it exploits low-power radio units positioned in stations to take advantage of structured cabling, offering more flexible rollout of radiation components in stations. This approach guarantees high-speed data transfer and robust voice call coverage for users in metro stations. In an environment where several alternatives for cell coverage in tunnels exist, the 'neutral host' DAS solution will be your optimal choice. It responds to the need for sustainable solutions for metro networks, given their network complexity, their underground infrastructure, and the context of high passenger numbers. This solution effectively addresses the growing demand for uninterrupted connectivity, fast data transfer, and preparation for the imminent arrival of 5G technology.
