Private networks

Private networks rely on complementary technologies, both wired (copper, optical fibre) and wireless, to build high-performance, local infrastructures.

Private networks: a major challenge for businesses

Although technically connected to the wider digital infrastructure, private networks are protected and isolated from the public Internet: only authorised devices can exchange data and connect.

The use cases are numerous: the local networks of companies, buildings, airports and industries share similar uses such as IoT, data transfer and exchange, computer networking, data hosting, and are geographically limited. Fibre optics and wireless are increasingly being introduced into private networks, which are developing growing needs for private or shared data centres.
